On election day my blog went haywire.
I’ve upgraded my hosting since but the issues are still present – Apache is crashing over and over again. I had received 600+ visitors in the span of a few hours just prior to the system issues. However, WordPress should be able to handle that, particularly with WP super cache enabled.
I may face a long process of elimination trying to figure out which of my many plugins is causing these issues. Blogging has often served as catharsis for me – it was the only thing that kept me linked to reality many days when I was in Baghdad.
I get anxious when I can’t log in and vent. I’ve been through three days of frustrating phone calls with my host, Midphase. I’ve had to move my DNS hosting and do all kinds of other tech nerd things to try and get this blog back online. Hopefully I won’t drive myself crazy.
Update: The blog died because someone a lot bigger than me linked to an entry entitled: The Cult of Obama. Only 1 in 100 visitors from the big guy that killed my site are actually reading the article. I think they just wanted to see the picture of Obama smoking.
