In case you didn’t know, I’m a member of the National Guard. This year during annual training, we covered thousands of troops preparing to deploy for a year or more in Iraq as part of our annual training this year at Fort Stewart, Georgia.
Some of them were pretty happy go lucky about it, and some of them were plain mean. For the first time in my military career, I had a troop get in my face about being photographed. Apparentely he wanted no part of what was happening and damn sure didn’t want a record made of the events that were rapidly propelling him toward the sandbox across the pond.
