More thoughts on Eason Jordan

The more I read about the Eason Jordan controversey, the less inclined I am to think that Jordan is a smart man. Why isn’t he defending himself? As I read more about the man’s history, I am increasingly convinced it is because he is guilty of virulent anti-military sentiments.

After all, if you really know 12 journalists who have been assassinated by the U.S. military, aren’t you going to be happy to name the journalists and the circumstances surrounding their murders? I can’t find that information on the web.

While it’s clear that journalists have been murdered around the world for various reasons, I can’t find a single well documented instance of the U.S. military assassinating a journalist. Can someone please tell me if such cases exist? My interest is highly personal, since I’m a) serving in the U.S. military and b) serving as a journalist.

I think Eason Jordan has destroyed his own career. We’ll know soon enough when the video tape of what he actually said surfaces. It won’t be long.
