Remember, the Drug War is a war against individuals, not a war against drugs. The act of possessing drugs is not a crime against anyone. The act of using drugs may be a crime, but only against the user’s body. Who owns your body? You should. But in our modern state, the government apparently believes it does.
Congressman James Sensebrenner thinks he owns you. I wrote him this letter, which, like all my missives to government, will be answered with a generic, computer generated response.
I wanted you to know that I have written my elected representatives and asked them to vote against HR 1528. I will also speak against such disgusting legislation at every opportunity. Such legislation is appalling in its draconian attempts to regulate freedom of choice, which includes the freedom to make bad choices.
Perhaps you should consider that a whipped dog is more likely to bite. After 40-years of whipping the dog, Mr. Sensebrenner, what you and your pro drug war cronies have created is a large segment of society that is conditioned to distrust the master, and bite when cornered. Your tactics are only making the situation worse.
Respectfully,
A Concerned Citizen
